Trick or Treat!

We had a good time trick or treating with the S's and some friends from our old home school group.... The three families had 8 kids combined and we were quite a pack going from house to house.....

After our downtown thing we went to MiMi's so the kids could fill up their buckets! Once we got food we headed home for some great rock band!!!

The Big Room....

Mom finally sent some photos down and here is a good one of the new bathroom going in! She is working hard with Grammie and Popey to get it done and hopes that the floor will go down soon! A long time coming but will be so nice when done!!!

Pumpkin, Pumpkin... Yuck!

Okay so when did cleaning out a pumpkin rate alongside of doing something gross?? We just about did not make it with Zachary and the Yuck that is inside his pumpkin... He had to turn his head each time I reached in and pulled anything out.. LOL....

The boys had fun carving their pumpkins and are very excited to trick or treat with the S's!!!

Dad Gets the Award!

As most of you know, (I mentioned it earlier on the blog about the poster I was helping him with) Dad took his boat to AL for a small (international) boat show. The boat is build piece by piece by dad and although he had prints to work off of, he made it his own with unique features.

The actual boat developers were at the boat show and only one award is given to all the people there. Dad brought that award back home with him!

Congrats Dad!!!

It is always nice to get fun mail but it is even nicer to get a package from Nana! The boys really enjoyed getting a package from Nana the other day.... It really did make them feel good hearing from her and getting little treats!

Dealing with the boys being sick this week. They both have fall colds which is not bad but since they never seem to get sick they are not happy. Dad sent me this photo of the Blue Bird stopping by his house on the way South... Winter is on it's way.

Coffee Cup Cake...

The boys and I are trying to perfect the "Coffee Cup Cake" that I got a recipe for the other day. When we made it today it came out too moist and had an odd consistency.... We are going to try it again using only half the amount of apple sauce and see if that helps... Hopefully I will be ready to share the recipe soon but I might just email it to everyone and see if someone else can have better luck. On a good note, the flavor was much richer with the chocolate chips that we added but they all sank to the bottom making it kind of an odd chocolate melt when we dumped it on the plate.... This one has me stumped.. Any suggestions?? LOL....

Bird House Building.....

The Home School group had Bird House building on Friday.... It was a wonderful project and the S's2 did a wonderful job at putting together all the forms, getting each child safety glasses, hammers and (D sewed last night)aprons that had a place for nails and hammer!

I was proud of our boys (and I use the "our" as the LB boy and my two) at how well they went to work and figured it out; completing their houses before anyone else!
We had a two special guests today that was very exciting! M & C came to town and stopped into the meeting to say hello and play with us!

Although it rained the whole time we were there we had a good time chatting and playing in the gym... Our boys took a few minutes out to show off the DS games and get some quiet time...

Making Spaghetti

The boys decided to make spaghetti yesterday for dinner. It came out really well and they have been feasting on leftovers! Someone sent me a recipe for "coffee cup cake" that I tried making last night to see how it was. I think my cocoa was old and it had little flavor but I also did not have any chips to put in it and I think that would have helped. The recipe suggested using applesauce instead of oil but I did not have any of that either... So, I guess after I go to the store I am going to try it again and see how it is... It only took about 3 minutes in the micro and was not bad for the first attempt... Once I get it down I will have the boys make it and see how they do... Will share when I perfect it!

Qman and eggs

Qman has developed his cooking to making his own scrambled eggs by himself.... He has a little trouble washing his pan after but is working on that....

At The Fair......

Headed off to the fair today... The boys met up with a friend from Karate and had a good time riding the rides. Grandpa came down to eat a bit of fair food!! Zach had a great time on the rides this year and was our "need for speed" child as always...

Rain and stuff

Thought I would throw a couple photos up here of the new puters and monitors that arrived Wednesday. Thanks to the FIL Scott and I were able to upgrade our puters and monitors and the boys were able to upgrade their monitors. Our wonderful IT/awesome-dude man, Mr.X was able to upgrade us and put together some great machines for us. Zman will now be given my old puter which is a very big upgrade for him and he is looking forward to finally being able to play some games on his puter that he has been unable to play. The newer monitors that they both got will help in their school work as well.

We have gotten a couple days of rain and hopefully we will be able to hit the fair on Saturday with sunshine!

We all have been enjoying WAR and as you can see, the boys are enjoying it as well...
