The apple doesn't fall far.....

For those of you who know (and love) me..... You know that I have always been a bit of a klutz.... Unfortunately for my baby son, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and he has the ability to hurt himself just standing still.... When he does it he always ends up with marks, bruises and cuts to show off..... This latest one happened when I was on the phone with Nintendo about their DS cracks and it was pretty hard to answer all their questions with him in the background! He got out of the pool and rested a bit and then did get back in but I'm sure that it hurts pretty badly..... Oh, he did it by not jumping far enough and hitting the ladder on the way down......

Our Week at a glance!

Don't know about everyone else but the heat is getting to us all.. The boys have enjoyed the pool until almost dark and my swims really have been nice.

Got some lawn mowing done today which was a good thing.... The boys managed to clean up all the scrap wood that was left over from our last project and Zman and I cleaned up the insulation that was pulled out of the wall....

Scott and I have been watching Dexter (one of the best shows in a while..) Just finished "Dead Like Me" which is one that I highly suggest to everyone.... Next will be "Weeds" that has proven to be wonderful as well.......

Our week will continue with a visit to the IL's and then the end of the Dr. Who season we have been watching with Mr.X and Pamela!

HOT!!!! No air blowing outside and the hum of the fans only suggest cool inside right now! I know, central air is a good thing..... Do we have that??

Hope everyone's week goes swimmingly!

Ceiling done, Crawl through coming along!

Sheet rock ready..... Not words that particularly make me smile but in this case I am excited about the next step of our project! With the ceiling done today and everything ready we can now begin to put up the sheet rock and cruse into the finishing stages of the boys "sleeping quarters"!!!
Qman happened to mention that his hole was "unfinished" and with Grandpa working on other projects, "just when will they be done??"..... Tired as he was, Grandpa went home and built the inserts for the boys holes and we put them in this morning! A flawless fit.. (what else do you expect from my dad?) The boys are thrilled and planing "steps" or something to get up into their holes from one side and want to know when we can move beds in for the other side!!!
Heading off to see the new baby with MiMi while the boys have class with Mr. X!

Keep tuned for more room building! Happy Sunday people!

Little Arms helping out....

Running the last of the wire so that the boys new room finally has electric! Of course nothing ever goes as planned and Grandpa managed to cut through the hot wire that we were going to tie into; bringing on a whole host of other "fixing".....

Qman helped out with his skinny little arms trying reach the hole that his dad and Grandfather cut.

Yesterday we laid out the pentagon shape for their hole that they will be able to fling their little bodies through on to their bed.... It will open the two rooms up just a little more and look really cool when we are done!!

Ceiling will go up in a bit and then I can order and start putting up sheet rock! YAY! Mudding comes next and then finally panting, building the window seat and laying the carpet! Once we get them out of the one room we have to begin painting and putting up shelves in the other room.....

Playing in the Rain!

Have had to work this week and the boys have been hanging with MiMi, Jeffery, Nana and Grandpa! Today we got a good shower and the boys enjoyed playing out in the rain while Dad, Scott and I painted the boys ceiling boards!
Hopefully we can get the ceiling boards done!

Had fun watching Dr. Who and playing Rock Band.......

Camping and Awards

Our Camping adventure was so much fun! Hot as it was, it cooled down enough on Friday night to be comfortable! We enjoyed setting up camp, watching everyone arrive and helping others get situated! The boys were excited as each other boy arrived and they had a very good time at the camp ground!
This weekend was a special one because the boys advanced in their rank in Cub Scouts. In their new rank we are looking forward to a very exciting year of scouting with many adventures happening around them!
Our boys had their Nana and Grandpa as well as Mr. X and Pamela come to see them advance! After the wonderful ceremony that KS did for them, we went back to camp for a short time and then went to a snake show that the park put on.

All the boys enjoyed swimming in the lake and hanging out at the campsites.

One very special moment happened that could have turned very tragic. Two brothers had problems in the water shortly after all 11 boys got in. The father of the boys went after the oldest boy, never seeing that his youngest one was also in trouble. Qman was the first to get to the little boy, holding him up out of the water until an adult could get to him. Qman bobbed up and down, taking a breath and then going under to hold the little boy, who is nearly as heavy as him, up so that the little boy did not go under. Qman deserves props for never thinking anything other than the little boy was in trouble and he needed to do something. When I asked him if he realized what he had done he said "All I did was hold him up because he could not swim"..... The father got the oldest of the two boys out and it was not until much later that day did he even realize that both his boys were so very lucky that day! Kudos to my oldest son!

Working with Grandpa!

This past weekend we all worked on finishing the boys up for their advancement in the cubs next weekend! Zach had a few requirements that he needed to work on as well as Q and B....
Grandpa was nice enough to cut out forms for each boy (including Lbean2) to make building the bird houses easier! WS and I joked that by the time LB2 gets into scouts he will have already done many projects with the older boys!

Sunday went by quickly and we were sad to see the S's leave yet again.... Did not see Mr.X and Pamela which was sad but we had a good day.

I am working all week and the boys are staying part time at Nana's and part time with Jeffery and Mimi... My work week has proven to be stressful thus far and I am hoping it gets better!
Nana continues to work on Pirate costumes!! YAY!!

Our cubs big advancement is Sat; camping is going to be a blast!

Come be a Pirate......

Last night we had pirate costume try on time! Nana is doing a wonderful job making Pirate costumes for not only the kids but the adults!!
After all the fittings were over the adults retreated to the game room for a lot of Rock Band with some pleasure drinking in between.... Our last song was Green Grass and High tides and it was very exciting when we finished the song... By that point there was a lot of laughing and giggling!

Only two had some "deploy" action going on... It was a fun stress free night and the boys played on the puter and then in their room for quite a while!

Today we will be building bird houses and working on the last of their requirements for next weekends advancement in the Cubs!!! Q and B and J will be moving on to Webelos 1 and Zman will move up to Bear with the rest of his pack..... It is all so exciting!

Just another day.......

And life goes on.... This time last year we were getting home from a great trip up North! Sadly we will not be going this year but everyone is in out thoughts and we miss you all so much!!!

Working in the office tomorrow and next week.....

Working on the boys to get their advancements done in Cubs this weekend and then the big Advancement Ceremony on our Camp out next weekend......

So much to do.... So little time!!!!!

I had a good time with Pat today and then of course shopping with KS was a blast.. The meeting we went to... could have skipped that!!! But of course where ever KS and I are makes for an interesting time for those around us....

Excited about this weekend and next! Expect very little this coming week because as I mentioned before, I will be working!

/hugs!

Tuesday

Grats going out to our friend Mark who biked 16 miles to work this morning. It took him 1 hour 20 mins to do it and hopefully he will have an easier ride home! He swore that when gas got above $4 a gal he would start biking and true to his word he had a practice run last weekend and did it for the first time today.....Today we worked on school work and a Mr.X project and then I foamed the boys ceiling and put up some insulation.

I worked on laundry and normal household stuff as well..... The boys have cubs tonight and we will be heading there shortly!

Getting a little shower, we are in such a need for rain!

Monday, Monday.....

For those that want to know more about DC....... Here is the LINK......

Boys have a friend over for a spend the night..... Last night when I check on them they were still awake pretty late in their room talking... Reminded me of the sleep overs that we used to have..... The part of the conversation that I heard was pretty funny..

Got to see Mr.X and Pamela for a short visit last night, it was good to see them.....

Boring Monday with paper work, laundry, insulation, and a few phone calls to make.....

Boys by-passed school work today because their friend is over..... They will have to do some reading after Karate tonight and then get back to it tomorrow...

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend!

Black Hole Sun........

There are times while your friends are not around when you think of them most... Mr.X and Pamela are visiting Pamela's mom and tonight we ended our night with a round of Rock Band and our last song was Black Hole Sun..... It was then that I realized how much I missed them.... Black Hole Sun will always remind me of Mr. X.......
Today we had a "Heavy handed, chatty" co-worker (and his sweet wife) of Scott's over and we all went to movie and dinner; after a round with the "Colt"....
Dad is working on his canopy top for the boat and it looks really nice so far.. It is a great addition to the boat!

Zman lost another tooth last night and I woke this morning to dollar bills being waved in my face.. The tooth fairy no longer leaves quarters but now leaves dollar bills... Oh' how times have changed!

Missed seeing the S's this weekend as well, thought they would be out of town but their plans got changed and just did not manage to pull together a visit.....

Dad got invited to a special flying day and he and mom spent the day there today...

Lastly, heard from an old friend Rudian today via email! It was great to hear from him and we will miss him in Sept at DC.....

The room......

The boys and I worked on insulation today after they finished their school work.....
It will be nice to get it done and start on the rest of the project.
My thumb is still sore and it is hard cutting the insulation. The boys did a great job with the staple gun.
