Random Christmas shots

We had a few family things... Here are some random shots from our day... The boys enjoyed a wonderful day today with Nana and Grandpa and I promised them that I would take them shopping tomorrow as well as work on something with Grandpa.

Work is going to start full swing soon and I will miss my boys every day!! We have big plans for New Years Eve this year and look forward to that!

One Aunt is in rehabilitation because of her hip and although I have not talked to her I have heard she is not very happy about it... The other aunt just finished her treatments for her bladder cancer and we are praying that all goes well with the check up in the months to come.

Has been a little chilly here and it is driving me nuts to hear my heat running! Spring will soon be here I hope so I can open my windows again!!!

Will be sketchy keeping this updated but I will do my best!

Just random stuff.....

Some random photos, Scott enjoying a quiet night with Lucy... Quentin showing off his stack of change, and then Q showing me he could put both legs behind his head... I won't show that one because it shows a bit "too" much of Qman from where I took the shot!! The boys gather have banks that their grandpa and Nana have been saving for them for years. They are allowed to use the change (if they roll it) for DragonCon in the fall and then to buy Christmas gifts for whomever they like. The Christmas gift buying is a special day because they go with their father and they have a good time.....

The Day to Sing!

Every year for the last 8 years we have gone to the Nursing home located near our town with the homeschool group and sang Christmas Carols. This year I was worried about it because we have one family that "carries" us and they were unable to make it. Our backup family was there and those children did a great job but overall all our kids did wonderful! Singing at the Nursing home is a wonderful experience for the kids and it is not just a matter of showing up. Prior to going we make a banner, poster or in the case this year a Christmas tree out of old Christmas cards that are donated to me! The kids always cut out their hands and we get pretty creative with them. One year (my favorite year) we made two wreaths. This years Christmas tree came out great and they had it hanging before we left that day!

Crafting

Trying to get everything done that needs doing is one thing... Trying to get everything done that you WANT to do is another! Kati and I wanted to get some crafting done with the boys and it has been difficult with everything else going on to get time to do that.
The boys enjoy crafting but they enjoy it even more when they are all together! We had such a nice (although quick) afternoon crafting with them this past Monday. They all did such a wonderful job on the ornaments that we had gotten them to decorate. Thankfully things are so inexpensive right now and the sales were great on the ornament kits we purchased! I love those times with my kids!

Kati and Pamela got in some adult crafting time and started working on something for the new little munchkin!!!

I can't wait until Kati and I (as well as who ever wants to join us) to begin our scrap-booking endeavors!!! I have started ordering prints to scrapbook with and look forward to spending some time doing that!

The Tree!

After a bit of goofing around we got around to decorating the tree (after decorating Zachary of course!) It was a fun night. The tree got decorated and then we were able to sit down and watch HomeAlone1 together! Zman had not seen it before and Q had seen it several years ago. It was the first Christmas movie that I was able to get them to watch. Zach LOVED it and laughed so hard during it.

Master's Trip

The boys were invited through their Master's class to take a Field Trip to Emory University to their wonderful exhibit. They are studying the Egyptian Period this year and Emory has a very nice museum that encompasses that time period! We had a very nice time and thanks to Dad's Garmin were able to find our way in and out of there very easily!

When we left the museum I took the kids by the Mall of GA and let them do some Christmas shopping. Both were excited about stores that can't be found around here and were able to get some special gifts that we now have to wrap and put under the tree!

Fake Snow in GA

We took our boys to a town about an hour away from ours to see "Snow in GA".... All the shops on the square was supposed to be open and it was supposed to be a big event that turned into 10 minutes of "flurries".... Oh well... The boys had fun with their friends and we all had a good time standing out listening to the Christmas music! It was cold out and even tho the "snow" was some kind of frozen soap, it was a fun night! Would have rather had the 3" that mom go up north!!!

MiMi's family thing......

Had both an after Thanksgiving thing and a Bday party for the eldest of MiMi's siblings! The boys had a good time with their cousin and did not want to leave. It was fun hanging out with the "crazy side of the family" (as JB has always called them)!!!

I know, I'm not on top of anything....

We had a very nice few days around Thanksgiving with both sides of Scott's family and then at our own house! Zman helped a great deal with the cooking and I am enjoying how much he is into it! He made the devil eggs from start to finish and did the bulk of the mashed potatoes. I thought both came out very well.
