Science can be fun.....

We decided to make cast molds of some prints that we found down by the pond. We think one of them is the big turtle that only Grandpa has seen. It is not a great print but after looking at the photo it sure looks like the same foot made it. Zman did a mold of a deer print. Science was always so much fun when you were not looking in a book or in a classroom. I so enjoyed my science classes when we got to go outside or did stuff in the lab. The boys had a good time with the plaster and tomorrow we will go back to see how they did.

And then the golf cart died.... And then we got a mechanics lesson and THEN we worked on our PE by pushing the stupid cart up to the house. Boy the road from the pond does not look like it is that long and it does not look like it is ALL UPHILL!!! (Don't know why the photo is sideways, it is correct before I upload it... sorry..)

Crazy BIG spider!

Crazy writing spider at KS's house!!! Had to get my hand in there to show the size but I really don't think it shows HOW BIG it really is! We found it when we were walking the dog.... Zman and I had a really good day on Saturday with BS and KS! The scrapping was great and it really helped being where I could msg WS to see about Q!
The schedule is just not going to let up.... Will post as often as possible!

Look at life as an energy economy game.
Each day, ask yourself, Are my energy expenditures
(actions, reactions, thoughts, and feelings) productive
or nonproductive? During the course of my day,
have I accumulated more stress or more peace?

And he returns....

Yes, he returned; dirty and tired with a bag full of wet clothes. He had a marvelous time and looks a little older and wiser to me. Thankfully all was good and we had a little contact with WS during this event (WS was the only one that had enough signal to chat with us on Yahoo..) That made it a bit easier and I really did enjoy being able to type to Q a few times. They ate well, they fished and I am sure laughed around the campfire! I have not heard much of what was spoken about other than one little story about me and being a "firegirl"....

It is nice to have him home; my first born... I am happy that he had a good time, I am thrilled that I made it the whole weekend with out driving up to where they were just to see him.... :):) Thanks to KS for scrapping with me all day yesterday and to BS for keeping Zman busy! I guess it was not so bad. Next time will be hard but not as hard...

Off he goes....

and here goes my son. My first born, my heart.... Off on his big camp out with out me... Not that I expect him to stay home forever; nope, not what I am saying at all... Where did the time go? How did we get here already.... Breath people keep telling me. I'm breathing; Here you go Q; your first step to show you have listened to half of what your father and I have tried to teach you.

Off you go my son. Be safe and remember where home is!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

A shout out to a very Special
Mom! Happy Birthday!
I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving

Bowling and Feeding the fish!

Part of the boys obligation is to feed the birds and fish for their Grandfather. They enjoy doing it and have a good time with the golf cart! Qman found this wonderful flower that smelled sooooo good! I am not sure what kind it is but he picked it and now it is in water in my kitchen!

The boys went bowling last week with the scouts! Mr. X was so nice to take them since I had a meeting and Scott had to work. WS was kind enough to get a few photos of the event.... :):)

Taking Schooling on the Road!

Taking schooling on the road is never cheap. It is almost always fun but that comes with a price! Today we went to the Atlanta History Center and it was FREE for homeschoolers! This is one of Atlanta's "best kept secrets"!! (according to some paper we read).. It really is an awesome place. 33 acres of gardens, museums, old homes (fully furnished with the stuff from the early 1900's) and a small area of buildings that had been moved from other parts of Atlanta to depict life prior to the civil war. The boys learned everything they could fit in their brains about the not only the Civil war but flash forward to the 1996 Olympics (also a huge part of the center)! We did skip the golf part of the museum because of lack of time and interest..... There were a couple parts that we did not get a chance to see but I feel sure we will be going back.

After our whole day (10:45 to about 4:15) we did a little (tiny) bit of shopping at Hobby Lobby and then headed back to the S's for dinner.... WS cooked us a great pasta meal (one that I will be cooking soon!!) and then while the boys played and WS ate zombies, KS and I sat out on the porch talking.... I love my life!

A Blast from the Past!!

Here is our Hockey team from 1983 season! I am so glad to have found this photo! This team helped to shape who I am today! I miss this group... We had a good time!

Birthday with the Family!!

We had a really nice Birthday dinner with Scott and Mr.X This past Friday.... The menu was great and it was nice to hang out with everyone! MiMi (Madam Gimps-a-Lot) is healing well and on the mend! Baby X was in fine form and we enjoyed watching her with Zelda and crawl around on the floor!!

A day with my Youngest!

In life there are hard things to get used to. Today the Zman had to see his brother go off without him. Don't get me wrong, it has happened before but for some reason this time was harder. Mr.X and Scott went off for their birthday movie and Qman went to his friends which left Z and I. I gave Z the choice to do anything and he picked Chucky Cheeses.... Yuck, blarg... oh the things we do for our kids!!! We had a really good time today and when we got home Scott was back so we are going to enjoy some Fringe and some pizza!!! I love my youngest... he makes me laugh..

B-Boys have a B-day Party!!!

Happy Birthday to the B-boys!! Not quite their birthday but we celebrated early and had a great day!! It was a day of good food, good loots, and great company!! We finished off the night with an Adult type movie while the kids watched something in the boys room... Overall a great day and thanks so much to the hosts!
