September Trip; the begining!

I can honestly say that this trip was really centered around this little girl! I loved the little moments when she would be so quiet with her bottle... She takes eating ANYTHING very serious! We had such a great time with her!!
Thankfully I got to see my cousin before she left for vacation! Funny how she was heading South while we were in the North... She is so close to retirement and I can't wait for her to be able to come South to hang with us!
As a special treat the first IceCream that each of the boys got they were able to make themselves. The selection of toppings is really something of a marvel and I wish I could have snapped a photo of their expressions when they turned around and saw the wall of toppings!!!
This little midget was very specific about 4 cherries! Not 3, Not 5! 4!!! The last day I had a cup of cherries for him but everyone wanted to try a piece so as I was cutting one up (which only left him 3) the look on his face of sheer panic that we were all going to eat his cherries was very funny!



It is always special to spend time with Grammie... This time with the S's in tow was even more special. The S's have spent the last two years at the Florida house and to finally meet her and say thank you for that was wonderful! Grammie got lots of hugs this past week and a few special moments with KEH!

September CT trip......

Our Northern trip was fabulous and we all had such a great week! The boys were able to skype to their dad so that was fun (thanks to the S's!) Seeing everyone at KEH's birthday party was awesome! We were thrilled to be able to introduce the S's to all the family that they have been hearing about!!

The boys enjoyed having the animals stick their head in the car and eat... We only lost 2 buckets which was not bad. The camel (whose sign reads "We steal and eat buckets but please feed us anyway") did take BS bucket as quick as he put it out there! The Longhorn who thought that he needed a ride WITH US took that bucket and it really was so slimy that I decided to let him have it rather than try to get it back!!
It did not take us very long to cipher out that staying in a nice hotel with a pool and hot breakfast was a much better option than staying in the CHEAP hotel that offered "free morning coffee" as their only amenity.... We were 11 miles from the Safari park where we wanted to take the boys and it really was an awesome way to spend our last night on the road!


It seems that getting lost is not always a BAD thing...... The boys (and Katie) wanted to "see" NYC... I took them over the Tapan Zee Bridge on the way up and once I got up north, everyone said "you should have taken them over the GW"... Yea, NO. Was not up for going thru NYC and over the GW.. On the way home my directions failed me and you should have seen the look on Katie's face when I told her we were in the BRONX!! The whole experience of going thru the Bronx and over the GW was fun for the boys and us but when I heard the ding of the gas light my stomach sank. I debated weather or not to actually tell Katie that we MIGHT get stuck on the GW depending on traffic but I figured she had to know.... We made it, got thru and got off in NJ to get gas but I held my breath the whole time!
Our last night in the north was surrounded by family which was wonderful! KEH was a real peach the whole week and we so very much enjoyed her company and playing with her!

Dragon Con pt 3!!

I think this is it.... 3 posts with random shots so you can peak into our world of DC just a little bit! More than anything else DC is about the people, our friends, family and all the good times. It is not easy trying to make everyone happy when working but we sure do try! In between working in the store there are little moments with the great people that I have met and little moments to look into my kids faces and see those big smiles at experiencing something so much bigger than them!

Our friend Stephanie is an artist that we have gotten to know. She and her mom work her booth every year and it is always so good to see her at DC!
Part of Zman's costume of LOTRO character which was a Loremaster (a type of Warrior) was his colored hair. We decided on Silver even though it was covered by his hat! He liked having his hair colored for the day!
A BIG highlight for me was to meet Larry Hagman (Jr from Dallas). KL had been talking about him for a month and I was so happy to have my photo taken with him and ask him to call KL to wish her a happy birthday! He actually sang to her and because she did not answer her phone! Now she has it in her messages forever!
We enjoyed seeing Jeffery and Smalls.... JB is taking the next couple years off so we had to get him tickets! He is going to enjoy just fooling around and not working since we have had him working since he was about 9! Little midget took the opportunity to beat JB while he was there!


I love my boys! They really enjoyed their costumes this year and wore them all weekend! Nana would have been proud! They got good use out of them and they look forward to wearing them on Halloween as well!
We did well with our sandwiches (which I can honestly say even I got sick of!) Our boys got to the point where they just did not eat rather than eat one more sandwich! We rationed the milk pretty well and did not run out of soda which is always a good thing! We had lots of laughs and of course some tears (would DC really be DC without tears??) I think the boys had their best year ever! I so owe the bigger BS an autograph tho....

So with this DC over and behind us we now have the task of working on next year... Going to take some time off and then start at it running.... Going to be an interesting next year but I look forward to it! Each year is new and exciting and I don't doubt that next year won't be just as new and exciting for us all! Many in our group taking next year off which they are all pretty excited about and well deserved!!

September is here!

With September comes MASTERS!! The boys look forward to seeing their friends and everything that they do there! This year they will be working on Medieval Times which is an awesome time period!

Dragon Con pt 2!

Our DragonCon experience was new and exciting this year with fun costumes and interesting people! We began our adventure the same way we ended it with Steak and Shake! Coming and going we enjoyed our first dinner in ATL and our last dinner in ATL at one of our favorite places to eat!
The 4 boys had an awesome time that was not lacking in burnout in the end but overall fun for everyone!
Q has a mission this year to write to Jamie on Mythbusters to see if he can't get him to come next year with the rest of the crew! He was so excited to meet Adam and can't wait to meet the others next year!
The store, as always was slammed and busy but I think we did well overall and I can't imagine how many pre-reg's we sold for next year but it was alot!!!




A baby's first year at a con is always so exciting!!! Welcome to DragonCon Little X!!




We missed Mom and Mimi this year but hopefully they will be able to make it next year! I must say, even with the emotions running very high it was a good show that I will not soon forget! I never expected my children to have fanboy moments. It never crossed my mind that meeting someone that they have been watching for years would reduce them to tears! Hopefully as they grow they will have more fantastic moments like that!

Dragon Con 2010 1 of 100???

I have so much to say and so many photos but I NEEDED to post these two because they were the best moment I have had for my kids! Qman had his fanboy moment and was blow away by meeting one of the Great MythBusters! It was just a chance meeting and I was so proud to be able to introduce them to him!!!! What a great thing for our boys!!!
