Uss Yorktown Trip!

Our Cubs did the Uss Yorktown this weekend and it truly was an experience that they will never forget! Seeing that huge carrier as we were crossing the bridge was amazing and then spending two days on it was a bit overwhelming! The sleeping was "boys" and "girls" and it was nice to see that the girls had the "officer's quarters" while the poor boys stayed in the regular bunks.

The ship offered many sites and we ate 2 meals in the mess hall. It was so amazing to see how big those carriers are and how many airplanes it could hold. The submarine was a shock; I don't think I have been on one since I was a child!

They had a beautiful Congressional Medal of Honor Museum on board that was very impressive! The theater was in the elevator bay where they would move planes to the flight deck.
Everyone was very accommodating to the scouts and it was amazing when the ship was closed to the public and we got the run of the ship.

The fire alarm at 6:15 was not fun but got everyone up and moving in time for breakfast!

Many more photos posted on my Facebook page so if you want to view them, click on the public link!

Dad's at it again!

It is sure going to be exciting when the building starts after he cuts all these in his mill! Here is a couple of 6X8's and 4X6's!

Nothing to report.......

Got nothing to report but I am trying to clean and I have a headache! Cleaning sucks and I am very willing to take donations for a maid! Do you think that if you have a maid you will keep things neater? I just don't know but I would like to try...

I like this photo, obviously there is something good going on with this group in the back...

JumpyJumps/ Cub Scouts in Action!

This weeks cub scout meeting was held at Jumpy Jumps in Hart! It was a great time for the kids and the parents got the meeting and planning out of the way! Jumpy Jumps is a great place that is owned by some very good friends and I was excited to show the place off to the parents of cub scouts! I was glad that it worked out and we were able to have our meeting there! Let me know if anyone wants more information about the place; they do great parties and events!

We have our trip planned and our fall schedule set with our activities and fund raisers! The boys are going to have an exciting year with everything going on.... I am so excited about being part of this very active group and look forward to seeing them enjoying the scouts!

Dad's design idea gets published!

NEW DESIGN (from the Glen-L newsletter!)

If you were at the Gathering of Boatbuilders in Guntersville , Alabama last year, you'll definitely remember Porter Harvey's Sweet Caroline. Porter adapted his version of our dory to use an air-cooled Wisconsin motor which was a really ingenious set-up. Glen was particularly interested in his forward, neutral, reverse mechanism and with Porter's assistance, has developed it for you! This new design is called the "Harvey FNR" and we will have it ready in a couple of weeks. This is basically an assembly to provide an FNR mechanism for motors up to about 15HP. I'll let you know as soon as it's available… it's on my desk now for the final editing and processing.

Dad got this email from the Glen-L people! How exciting this is for him and how proud we are of him!! It is so exciting to watch dad with his "projects" but to see the recognition that he has gotten for this is just really wild!

Ramping up for a busy month!

Well our life is about to get very busy with random trips, events and happenings! Taking it easy on our last "free" weekend for a while and enjoying it! Although we did not make the trip to the S's here are some photos from our last trip showing their stuff moving into their new space! It is all so exciting!

Having new space and organizing new areas are so much fun and we have enjoyed watching and helping with the adjustments!

This week will be an easier one for us with only a few things going on and then the gates will open... Stay tuned to photos from our adventures!

Homeschool meetings begin!

We had our first homeschool meeting yesterday which was fun!! My camera batteries died (which has never happened to me before when I did not have a spare set!) So this is the only photo I got......

Zachary made spaghetti for dinner last night all by himself. He cooked the meat, sause and the pasta with out a problem. The only thing that I had to help him with was dumping the pasta.

When Scott got home last night he found guests on our stairs and had to take a quick photo of them....

Big happenings with the two expecting moms! One got a wicked cool pack and play yesterday and is working on the baby's room this weekend!!!... The other got a very cool changing table/dresser..... Seems there is "nesting" going on all around me!!!

Saying Goodbye....

JB left for college this morning... We were there bright and early to see him off! It is exciting for him but sad that he has left. I am sure that we will see him more than we have for the last few months! He is starting this new part of his life and we wish him well!!

Bro's Bathroom project

The Brother has completely torn out his existing bathroom (with mom's help) and put in all new stuff! It is looking pretty good although he has been complaining about his arm feeling like it is going to fall off because of the sanding and mudding.

Went to see District 9 today with Mr.X, Pamela, Scott and the boys... It was pretty good; although not what I thought at all....

Yup... More painting today...

The S's have rooms that are "flooring ready"... Well pretty darn close anyway... What a great weekend we had helping to get the addition(s) finished and the rooms ready for the flooring people to come tomorrow.... It will be a busy week for the S's and the B's but somehow we will get through.... I see furniture moving in everyone's future, old flooring to pull up, work to be done and birthdays coming!
