Spring is here!

Late last night I left work and stopped by the store to get a drink; as I walked outside the smell of onion hit me like a ton of bricks! Yes, that is the sign to me that spring is here and I can feel the energy in the air! The boys spent the afternoon riding their bikes and go kart at Grandpa's house. They go to their Mimi's house in the morning to do schoolwork and then Grandpa picks them up and they get to play with him at his house. They really enjoyed their afternoon and will be going again tomorrow!

Our friend Shazz competed in a State Tourney on Saturday and not only did he win in his division but he won for Athlete of the Year! WTG Shazz!!! We are so proud!

Really excited about April 15th to get here! Spent the day doing some pretty hard returns yesterday and I enjoyed being a part of doing them. I like the challenge and I really love learning how to do the hard, complex returns.

Lunacy Robot Battles

Today in the pouring rain we headed to the Lunacy Robot Battles . It was very interesting and we had a good time going. The boys were so excited and got right up and dressed at 6:30am so that we could get there first thing! We were able to go down in the Pits and see all the Robots up close and see the teams that were running each Robot. 44 HS's from all over came to compete in this competition. Although it was not what I had thought originally, it was pretty neat to see the matches.

Grandpa is Guest Speaker!

What a day! Grandpa was the Guest speaker at the boys Master's Academy today! He spoke to two classes and I was so proud. He spoke about being in Vietnam and what his tour was like. The kids asked questions and Grandpa never missed a beat in answering the questions and keeping the class interested! The boys were so excited that he was there and that he spoke in front of their class!

Finishing up....

Today Dad was wiring Ed's boat and if the rain ends by Friday they should be ready to move it out of the shop. What dad will then do with all that space in his shop I don't know but I am sure he will be happy to have it back!

A Spring day is made for Biking!

The boys have enjoyed their bikes today! Grandpa went down and got them each helmets that actually fit them so they are now safer while biking!
Our house managed the 3 strike thing today and Scott's car is in the shop, the dryer stopped working and Scott threw his back out. There! We are done for a while. Scott went to the doctors today, the car should be back on its tires (for more money than I care to discuss) and the dryer guy came this afternoon!

The boys and I went to the pond site today to help Grandpa move some sticks and the boys had a great time riding on the road that he has finished so far! It won't be long before they can ride all the way down to the pond and around it!

We had an Adult night out on Saturday night which was great fun! The S's and I actually hired a (non-blood) babysitter for the night and with the exception of an exploding toilet, the night went well. It was great fun and we will really have to do it again soon! Of course the next time it won't be for an IMAX movie but the Watchman was great on IMAX and we all really enjoyed ourselves!

Today was my day off and we attempted to commit a cleanness in the house but did not get very far! Oh well.... Always another day. Expecting the next 4 days to be rain and then we have big plans for Saturday!

Yup, He's done it again!

Well as you can see, dad has been involved in another boat project and even though this one he is building with a friend, for a friend, it is just as beautiful as his... The workmanship of the woodworking is absolutely amazing! I am so proud of this second boat project! They are almost ready to get it out of the shop and this time dad will have to cut even more of the shop door jams off to get the boat out because this one is a little wider than his was!

Bike Riding!

I loaded the boys (hand-me-down) bikes into the van and headed to work. I had a couple returns that I needed to do and I thought it would give the boys a good chance to ride their bikes in a parking lot. They had a great time and it was so good to see Zman gaining confidence and actually ride around!

We had a long weekend and send out our sincerest condolences to the S's who had a loss in their family this past weekend. We spent the weekend in ATL with them during this difficult time.

Qman is working on a big project for this years DC costume contest. He wants the 4 of them (the S's and our two) to dress up in something that is going to be pretty cool... Here is just a look at what he is making for the costume!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Bring on Spring!

The boys really wanted to ride on their go cart today and talked grandpa into pulling it out and starting it up! They had a great time riding it around and it was really nice to finally see them on it and enjoying it. Of course they were a bit timid until they watched Grandpa speed all over the field and not flip it over! Once they saw him go on it they really let loose and went a bit faster!

YAY FOR US with the new pond / campsite! The boys, Grandpa and I spent the afternoon down at the site to map out where everything will go and what we wanted where. We have BIG plans for the layout and site and are very excited to see it start coming together! Quentin suggested using the old roof (actually he suggested using our roof) for the pavilion and then was backed by Grandpa when we were talking about taking the metal roof off the old barn and using that! We are going to use ceder trees for the posts and granite for the "cook" area. Grandpa even said we could put an "outhouse" down there for the lady-folk! I can't wait to begin the project!!!

Expecting many days of rain starting this weekend so Grandpa wont be going to talk to the boys Master Classes this week and will be working on the camping sites! (and the pond will fill up more!!) Can you hear the excitement?? I am thrilled that the boys are old enough to actually help us and will really enjoy when all their efforts pay off and we are able to camp down there!! It is going to be a lot of hard work and I am thrilled that they will be able to take part in it all!

Zman gets his first Camera!

Zach spent all his birthday money this year on one thing. It took him over a month of to decide what his purchase would be. He finally narrowed down his choices to a wrestling ring for wrestling figures or a digital camera. I was happy to hear his final decision! Last Tuesday we went to get his new digital camera and he has had a good time over this last week taking photos and video!

Cub Scout Camp Day!

The boys had a wonderful time at their Cub Scout Campout day yesterday! A friend was so nice to take the boys in the morning since both Scott and I had to work. I went down in the afternoon and hung out through dinner and the nighttime fun.
