Christmas Carols 08'

Today was the annual Christmas Carol singing at the local nursing home. The home school group goes every year and gives out Bananas and Candy Canes and does about 40 minutes of singing for the residents. While we were there we were talking to the Activities Director and we were trying to figure out how long we had been doing it. Zach was 2 the first time we went and she has watched some of our kids grow up over the last 5 years.
The boys do so well with the program and enjoy going. This year they got a special treat because the residents gave each child a small gift to unwrap! The S's came back with us and we all had lunch together. It was a really fun day and is nice that we are able to do it.
Last year we did a wreath with their hands and this year we did two banners. The Activities Director said that they still had the two wreaths from last year and were going to hang them. Each child cuts out their hands out of old Christmas cards that I collect from family members. My Aunt Dot sent me cards when she was alive and Grammie saves all her cards for me as well. We have really made very good use of these old cards and it is nice that they go to the nursing home and brighten up the place so well!!
