Riding on Dad's Pony........

Mom, the boys, and I shut up the Florida house early Saturday morning. It took longer than we thought it would but we finally got it all closed up in "Popey" fashion and headed off to Kennedy Space Center.
Kennedy Space Center, much to my dismay, does not offer any discounts for home school families, Fernbank members, or senior citizens.

The do however offer tickets at a discounted rate on military bases. Thankfully, mom was with us and we were able to go to Patrick Air force base that was practically down the street from Kennedy. Of course, Patrick is impressive in its own right and was exciting just going there! Riding Dad's military pony that has gotten us so much in the past, was going to get into Kennedy at a reduced rate but when we arrived we found an even bigger surprise. They offered a special one day event rate that cost us less than two adult tickets and was a huge savings on 4 tickets!
We arrived at Kennedy, parked very close and once through security we were able to put a plan of what we were going to do in motion!

There was no way that we were going to be able to see the whole thing and we were looking forward to everything!
The list of what we did was impressive, including the wildlife we saw, the two 3-D Imax theaters we went to, the simulator we went on and the great tours we took! We even got to tour the Explorer that was on display there.

Our day flew by and we had such a great time. We all kept commenting on what a wonderful day.
The boys enjoying making penny presses for their penny books.

Scott and I got them penny books a few years ago and they make them where ever they go. It is fun to do and they enjoy going through their pennies to remember places that they have gone.
I don't know that there was any one place that was better than the other, it was all fun and exciting.

Kennedy is a must-see for everyone and if there is ever a time to visit you really should!
The boys got a lot of comments about their shirts. It is funny, sometimes people would point and laugh about one or both shirts!
