Quentin and Zachary were invited to celebrate Bailey's 8th and Braeden's 3rd birthdays. It is so cool that the brothers were born so close together and celebrate their birthdays together! We found Kati and Walter's house with a bit of turning around: Q and Z were learning "map" and direction reading in the back seat and because I totally left the directions up to them, we had a few wrong turns but I think that they did pretty well at leading me to where we needed to go.
Walter and Kati have a very nice home, set back from the road with family all around them. It is very cool for them to live so close to some family, as we do. There were 12 children at the Harry Potter themed party and the boys had a blast! Walter had made each child a wand and had put their names on them in Rune; unfortunately he ran out of time after the fourth one but Q and Z, Bailey and Braeden all got one with their names on them, truly making my boys feel very special! The only real time they were able to go outside is when they were doing the slip and slide; the heat was just to much for them to hang outside very much.
People came and left, lunch was eaten, cake (cupcakes) were enjoyed (all day long!) and gifts opened. Pretty much run the way any of our birthday parties are run! Parents talked, kids played and fun was had by all!
The boys did not want to leave and because Scott was on his 6th day of work he went home and took a nap and we stayed: the boys overjoyed at being able to play with Bailey and Braeden. I'm sure we over stayed our welcome, (not leaving until just about 11pm!) but we had a great time.
Braeden is Zachary at 3! It is amazing that there could be another Zachary but we found him. Quentin and Bailey are two peas in a pod and can spend all day playing imaginary games together! Zachary is getting better at joining in with them and playing along rather than getting frustrated and I can see Braeden joining in very soon....
Overall it was a fantastic day and we got to meet a lot of really nice people. I know that the boys will talk about it all day tomorrow and how much fun they had!
