Fernbank FTW!!!

Oh my....... As if being gone all day on Friday was not enough.... The S's and the B's decided to head to Atlanta to go to the "Bugs, Bats, and Bones" special Halloween program that was going on at Fernbank Museum! Fernbank has a couple different sections to it and it was a bit overwhelming because it was our first visit. The S's have been several times so they were a little more comfortable there..... Our boys were so excited and did not sleep very well the night before and were very tired from running around all day on Friday....
Regardless, we were out of the house before 8, the boys having their first (and only meltdown) of the day, giving me an instant headache.....
You know those moments where you think "Omg? am I crazy.... I want to go back to bed..." So, after a quick "talking to..." (gritting between your teeth, "Go get me something to beat you with" type of moment...) We were off......
Pamela decided that she would go with us and we picked her up on the way out of town...... We met the S's at the flying J so we could all get gas and switch kids (Bailey rode with our boys...)

The museum was pretty easy to get to and actually was just a short way from where Mr. X and Pamela used to live (had we known...)
The bugs, bats and bones portion was from 10-2 and was very exciting... Scott had to work but met up with us after it was over so that we could take advantage of a couple of the permanent exhibitions. The newest one was the frog exhibit and that was really exciting.
Braeden wanted to hold a bug so they put one on his finger, he was fine until it started to move and then he swiped at it to get it off.... We all gasp when we saw the special bug go flying down! I hope the bug is okay.......
In the Frog part there was one very active little frog who was climbing the side of the tank.... He got to the top and could not go any further so he whipped himself down and fell on one of the rocks, getting his leg stuck between the rock and a stick. He worked himself out and then was mad~! You could see him swipe his leg in the air for no reason! The three boys had their faces plastered to the side of the tank watching him and he looked at each boy (it was really funny)... Kati and I were on the other side of the tank and under our breath were whispering "jump now.. jump now..." we were laughing because we knew if the frog jumped back on the glass that it would scare them.... Then he jumped! Omg... The three of them went flying back with a holler that echoed through the room! It is was so funny....
The boys did the "hands on" thing and we "walked through time in GA" which was cool... The rest we left for next time because we were about spent at that point and we were all starving....
We took advantage of the KSU story tellers and they were really good...... The boys learned that bats find their mom's and children by smell so they colored bats with smelly markers so they could find each other..... Quentin finally got to be a weather man on TV! And the four boys all got face painting... Zach opted for an arm tattoo instead. "Bob" is the big tarantula that the people complained about his name the whole time. lol... Kati asked if Bob ever got excited and she said that "No, he was used to being held..." at that point she pinched his foot between her two hands and he jumped a mile and was not happy! It was a fun day......
