Ok.... Here goes..... Someone? Please ask me... How was your Cub Scout campout? Well, after sifting through the 400+ photos and trying to pick the ones that would enable everyone reading this to understand what we did Friday 3pm through Sunday 3pm and what it was like? Hmmm... Just tough!
So many highlights, so many activities, so many fun and meaningful moments that I will have to break the weekend into sections....
This is camp out 1. Thank goodness for digital because it truly enables you to get "every" shot, every emotion, every activity.....
The players are as follows: Our Cub's were, Quentin, Zachary and Bailey. Our future cub who kept us all on our toes is Braeden..... There will be Braeden shots thrown in here and there or I will dedicate one post to just him; he honestly needs his own post... We shall see how it goes....

Friday the boys and I gathered rocks, sticks and equipment in the morning. If I heard one time, I heard one thousand times : "When are they going to get here?"... every parent knows the excitement that gains momentum each time that phrase is uttered. 35 miles away the S's where hearing, "When are we going to leave??"......
I tried my best to give the boys "busy work" and it was much easier when Scott got home from work and we started putting up tents, building the fire pit and gathering more fire wood.

The S's arrived about 3pm and we all begin to put up our "sleeping tents".... The S's realized that they had "lost or left" a couple a pieces of their tent at home and decided that Kati and I would go buy a new tent for them. We were off! The boys/men stayed back while Walter finished up some work, the boys played and Scott and Walter finished putting our tent up.
We finally got back and the S's put their tent up, the boys worked on the fire, we got air mattresses inflated/repaired/inflated again. (we realized pretty quickly that we need to invest in new air mattresses very soon)
Our Friday dinner was "make your own pizza" (inside) and the boys made rice crispy treats for after dinner.
Walter still had some work to do and we all headed up to the camp site to hang out, roast marshmallows and just enjoy the night. Please keep in mind that we had prepared for cooler temps but the weather took us by surprise and changed from being so cool last week to stifling this weekend. The last thing that we needed was a campfire and we all roasted in our tents! By Sunday afternoon it was 91 with a "feels like" 96 according to weather.com.

It took a bit to get everyone settled down but eventually we did sleep: somewhat.
