So what do you do when you are making your son breakfast, packing and getting ready and he asks for French Toast? Basically what I did.... "No Quentin, I don't have time, maybe after Dragon*Con..." Normally a child would be okay with that answer and go about their day... Not my son, his response was, "Well, I will just ask Mimi and Nana to make me French Toast in the hotel."...... Needless to say, I thought it a joke and told mom...... She thought it was a great idea and convinced me to bring my electric griddle and two mornings they served the 7th floor of the Hilton French toast!
We ate much more in the room this year. There seemed to be 30, 000 people all wanting food about the same time at night that we did and the wait times were hours at some places. Our new found freedom was delivery and we took advantage of it!
Mom and Judy brought sandwich stuff, fruit and enough snacks to feed the entire 7th floor (that is where we all were this year!) Because Walter and Kati stayed off site we gave them a drawer, a key and space in the fridge for their stuff. Dragon*Con is all about sharing, squeezing, being together and having fun!

One night we did eat out and the food was okay but they were short on staff and the restaurant was HOT! I would have liked a big ole' steak but Mexican was good enough. The boys enjoyed an ice cream after and then the "adults" (in age only) went out for a drink (or two....)

So, if we were not eating in the room, we were waiting to eat! Other than that, sleeping is about all that we did and the rest of the time we spent down in the hotel(s) at the con!
People watching is the most fun at night and if you can get a seat and a drink, the people will come! It is fun to see the "night time" activities in the lobbies and we tend to stay in the hotel that we are staying in because it is easy to get back to your room quickly when you just can't stay awake another second!
